As you probably know, Blackfriars Tavern in Great Yarmouth has one of the largest selections of Real Cider available in the whole country with at least 40 ciders available everyday; we are especially pleased to be able to offer you a local real cider out of the keg. Village Green Cider from South Norfolk have let us have a keg version of their excellent Medium Soul Cider, so you can now have a cold lightly sparkling real cider on draught. Join us for a spooky evening of ghost stories, folklore, and chilling tales at Blackfriars Tavern (East Anglia CAMRA Pub Of The Year and Norfolk CAMRA Cider Pub Of The Year). Grab a seat, order a drink, and get ready to be entertained by our storyteller, The Yarnsmith of Norwich (professional story teller and award winning author). This in-person event promises a night of thrills and excitement that you won’t want to miss. See you there! Light snacks available on the night. (Well behaved 12+ permitted; must remain with their accompanying adult at all times).
Ummmm, it’s us.!!! The announcement went out on the East Anglia CAMRA website, and also on East Norfolk CAMRA page. There will be an official presentation at 1pm on Saturday the 17th August at Blackfriars Tavern. There will be beer (all 18 handpumps working – that’s like a beer festival). We hope that as many of you as possible can make it. We will be issuing two pints of beer free to membership card carrying CAMRA members while stocks last. There will be some complementary food as well. This is not a CAMRA closed event, all our regulars are encouraged to give their support on this occasion.

It’s time for our Summer Quiz Series. Still with our excellent selection of Real Ales and Real Ciders, still on the last tuesday of each month, but now with our Rachael asking the questions! Presentation of Awards to Blackfriars Tavern on 1st July 2024 (7pm to 9pm) as CAMRA Norfolk Pub of the Year 2024 and CAMRA Norfolk Cider Pub of the Year 2024.
On the 1st July, there will be an event with the presentation of the certificates for both of these prestigious awards.
Earlier in the year, we were judged as East Norfolk Pub Of The Year and Cider Pub Of The Year, which was and continues to be amazing news which we are thankful for!
