Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers. Name: “Hopsinjoor” is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure “opsinjoor” is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see:
www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm). Kind of hops: 4 types of hops are used: Golding, Spalt, Hallertau and Saaz. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma. Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma.

Charles Quint but named after his golden coins, is still being brewed with dark, very well balanced malts, according to the classical infusion method. The aromatic malts and high fermentation process combines the warm round ness of wine with the light freshness of beer. Because of its high density of 19 ¡ Plato, the Gouden Carolus Classic is classified under ‘special beers’. Delicious!

A yellow golden and cloudy beer, with a firm and lacing cream-colour foam head. Aromas of mango, papaya, pepper and a subtle note of citrus. An excellent mouth feel because of the use of 100% fresh mango juice. The aftertaste is sweet and fruity.

Westmalle Dubbel

Westmalle Dubbel beer is a dark reddish brown, the nachgart in the bottle. The cream-colored foam collar smells of special malt and leaves a nice pattern in the glass. The flavor is rich and complex, spicy and fruity with a bitter-fresh finish. It is a balanced quality beer with a soft mouth feel and a long, dry finish. The Dubbel contains 7% alcohol.Since 1856 the monks brew beer next to the table still a dark Trappist beer. From 1926 to adapt the recipe and brew the beer a little richer. This is the origin of today’s Dubbel.
