Petrus Dubbel Bruin (or Petrus Double Brown Ale) is a top fermented dark beer with a subtle and slightly caramelized flavour; It is brewed with pure spring water and carefully selected hops and malts. Petrus Dubbel Bruin is preferably served cool.
This is a particularly good blonde beer with lots of strong, clean citric
hop character throughout. The orange peel that is included amongst the
ingredients tends to only come through in the nose. This beer is great when
served straight from the fridge as a little of the freshness is lost as it
warms up.
This beer, with high fermentation, has a pale amber colour and a flowery,
fruity taste with a harmonious balance between sweet and sour. This beer
has a thick and vivid froth and strikes its balanced taste with a delicate
bitterness.
As the frothy remnants of our spectacular 2-day Beer Festival settle, we find ourselves brimming with gratitude and joy. Held in the cozy embrace between Christmas and New Year, this event turned out to be more than just a gathering; it became a celebration of community, craft, and cheer!
First and foremost, a massive thank you to each and every one of you who joined us. Your enthusiasm, laughter, and love for great beer were the true heartbeats of this festival. Seeing so many friendly faces, both familiar and new, coming together to share in this experience was nothing short of magical.

Where would a beer festival be without the artisans behind the brews? A huge shout-out to the talented brewers of the real ales and the masterful cider makers who graced our event. Your passion for crafting these delightful beverages was evident in every sip. The variety, quality, and uniqueness of your creations were the talk of the festival, and rightly so. You brought not just drinks, but stories and experiences to our glasses.
As we bid farewell to this year’s festival, we carry with us the laughter, the conversations, and the shared moments that made these two days truly special. A version of Belgium’s “wild-fermented” wheat beer, which is the result of blending Lambic of “one summer” with old Lambic and chaptalized with candy sugar.
Faro is an intriguing balance of wineyness and sweetness. This was probably the beer being served in Breugel’s paintings of Flemish Village Life.Faro is a delicious accompaniment of a whole assortment of desserts.
Pecheresse has been developed by Lindemans brewery, using straight juice-method. The result is a fresh fruity drink with the background of the rich bouquet of Lambic.
Golden in colour, with a nose that fills the room with fresh peaches. Sparkling, crisp and refreshing balance of fruit and acid.
After a couple of years Oerbier tastes like it has been blended with wine… Oerbier has been refermented in the bottle and contains a layer of yeast, having vitamins B. NAT en STRAF on the glasses means WET and STRONG, a warning for the 9 vol. alcohol content. The little person on the glasses is the Oerbier man, a simple creature who holds a brewers fork in his right hand, symbolizing the work and science, but looking to the other side, the result of all this, the glass of (Oer)beer. The artwork on the poster is a wall painting found in Spain (Altamira) and is considered by art lovers as being the best prehistoric art work (30.000 years BC). On the other hand we have Oerbier started in 1980, continuing the tradition.
Since 2000 as the yeast supply ceased, we installed a new yeast propagator. The tart aftertaste is obtained by lacto bacterial fermentation (since 2005).
Oerbier means original, from the source. This beer has been brewed in small scale (5 gallons) at home in a copper wash kettle, by two brothers who were students at the time. They took over an old brewery which was out of business and said: “If we don’t bring the brewery back to life, nobody will!” It was also a unique opportunity to create some interesting brews, so why not try it? Therefore we went ahead. We did the main work ourselves and kept the scale of the brewery as it was. Since then, the brewery and its beers have been an inspiration for a lot of brewers. Oerbier is brewed from all different malts, Poperinge Golding hops in flowers and a special yeast which makes it a little tart, especially with aging. At the brewery we have excellent cellars which have a constant temperature of 8°C allowing Oerbier to age at its best.

Arabier is a pure malt beer brewed with flower Nugget-hops from Poperinge. It has the special dry-hopping taste and aroma, so appreciated by beer lovers all over the world. It is one of the two main beers from De Dolle Brouwers throughout the year. Aging time is limited due to the fact that hop bitterness is declining with the time
Arend Tripel has an intense, full flavour and is characterised by a balanced combination of subtle bitterness and pleasant fruitiness. The spicy after taste makes this beer a contemporary high fermentation beer.
