We just realised that no one knows that we are the official East Norfolk CAMRA Runner Up Pub Of The Year for 2022, so we thought we would let you know. Thank you to all you CAMRA members that visited us and took the time to score our beers!
In 2022, following recommendation by the East Norfolk CAMRA branch, the Blackfriars Tavern pub’s inclusion in the Great Yarmouth section of the Good Beer Guide by CAMRA was announced.
The Good Beer Guide is the list of the top 4500 pubs in the UK where the highest quality real ale and beer is served in the most pleasant pub surroundings, according to CAMRA members.
The Blackfriars Tavern pub welcomes many customers who are CAMRA members from Great Yarmouth and further afield, as well as many who are not.
Real ale is a short lived product which requires great cleanliness and attention to detail to ensure that it is presented in tip-top condition, and the same attention to detail is given to all the other drinks available in the pub, which makes the Blackfriars Tavern the best pub or bar to drink any sort of drink in Great Yarmouth.
In terms of the Real Ales on offer, the pub normally offers 6 local ales in the bar to drink, and these come from a variety of local ale brewers close to Great Yarmouth.
In addition to Real Ales served in the pub, we also serve Real Cider. The definition of Real Cider by CAMRA has recently changed, and we are please to offer at least 6 ciders at the bar which conform to the updated definition of Real Cider within the wider choice of 14 still ciders.
The Blackfriars Tavern pub is open year round and has friendly staff. It is situated a few minutes walk away from the commercial town centre, but still just a few hundred metres from the Great Yarmouth seafront. It is situated close to the Time and Tide Museum.
The pub has 2 separate bar areas in the pub where many drinks including continental beer and real ale are served by our friendly staff. Different to other pubs in the area, there are also 2 separate areas with seating outside which are walled and offer a great place to drink real ales in the pub grounds, served at the perfect temperature, capturing the sun most of the day.
Welcome to the East Anglia CAMRA Regional Pub Of The Year and the Norfolk CAMRA County Pub Of The Year. Find us at 94 Blackfriars Road, Great Yarmouth. Postcode: NR30 3BZ. WhatThreeWords: ///hopes.spoken.richer
